18 Dog Treats
1 cup pumpkin purée (plain, unsweetened – not pumpkin pie filling)
1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella work best)
2½ cups whole wheat flour
1 egg
2 tablespoons water (add more if needed)
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, mix the pumpkin purée, egg, and shredded cheese until well combined.
Gradually add the flour, stirring until a dough forms. If the dough feels dry, add water one tablespoon at a time.
Roll the dough out on a lightly floured surface to about ¼-inch thickness.
Use a bone-shaped cookie cutter to cut out treats and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
Bake for 25 minutes, or until the treats are firm and lightly golden.
Let cool completely before serving to your dog.
Store cooled treats in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
For longer freshness, refrigerate for up to 7 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Simply thaw before serving.
Small dogs: 1 small treat per day
Medium dogs: 1–2 treats per day
Large dogs: 2–3 treats per day
Always adjust based on your dog’s size, activity level, and dietary needs.
