18 Dog Treats
1 cup pumpkin purée (100% pure pumpkin, not pie filling)
2 ½ cups whole wheat flour (plus extra for rolling)
1 large egg
2 tablespoons natural peanut butter (xylitol-free)
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional, dog-safe)
¼ cup water (as needed for dough consistency)
Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, mix pumpkin purée, egg, and peanut butter until smooth.
Gradually add the flour and cinnamon, mixing until a stiff dough forms. Add water a tablespoon at a time if the dough feels too dry.
Roll the dough out on a floured surface to about ½-inch thickness.
Cut into bone shapes (or any shape your pup loves).
Place treats on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 45–55 minutes, until very firm and dry.
For extra long-lasting crunch, turn off the oven and let the treats cool inside with the door slightly open.
Once completely cooled, store the treats in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks.
For longer storage, keep them in the refrigerator for up to 1 month or freeze for up to 3 months.
Small dogs: ½–1 treat per day
Medium dogs: 1–2 treats per day
Large dogs: 2–3 treats per day
Always supervise your dog while chewing and adjust portions based on size and activity level.
