Ingredient | Why It’s Good |
---|---|
Peanut Butter | Protein, healthy fats |
Oat Flour | Easy to digest, gluten-free |
Applesauce | Natural sweetener, gut friendly |
These treats are made with pantry staples and leave out all the unnecessary fillers, binders, and preservatives you’ll find in commercial treats. Bonus: they pair great with Peanut Butter Banana Applesauce Treats .
Baked treats: Store in airtight container for 5–6 days, fridge up to 10 days, or freeze for 2–3 months
No-bake treats: Keep in fridge for 7–10 days or freeze up to 3 months
Batching saves time, so I always freeze half for later — Odin never notices the difference. You can try similar prep with Peanut Butter Applesauce Oat Treats .
Dough too sticky? Add a bit more flour or oats.
Too dry? Add extra applesauce or a splash of water.
Crumbly after baking? Mix longer to bind better or add 1 egg.
Too hard for older dogs? Bake less or use oat flour + banana.
Avoid these mistakes and rotate in recipes like Peanut Butter Banana and Oats Dog Treats for variety.
