Easy
18 Dog Treats
1 cup pumpkin purée (plain, unsweetened)
½ cup unsweetened applesauce
2½ cups whole wheat flour (or oat flour for sensitive tummies)
1 egg
¼ teaspoon cinnamon (optional, dog-safe amount)
2–4 tablespoons water (as needed for dough consistency)
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, mix the pumpkin purée, applesauce, and egg until smooth.
Add the flour and cinnamon, stirring until a dough forms.
If the dough feels dry, add water one tablespoon at a time until pliable.
Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to about ¼-inch thickness.
Use a bone-shaped cookie cutter (or any fun shape) to cut out treats.
Place treats on the baking sheet and bake for 20–25 minutes, until firm.
Let the treats cool completely before serving to your dog.
Store cooled treats in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
For longer storage, refrigerate for up to 2 weeks or freeze for up to 3 months. Thaw before serving.
Small dogs: 1 small treat per day
Medium dogs: 1–2 treats per day
Large dogs: Up to 3 treats per day
Always serve treats in moderation and adjust based on your dog’s size and diet.
