18 Dog Treats
1 cup pure pumpkin purée (unsweetened, no spices)
¼ cup coconut oil (melted)
2½ cups whole wheat flour (or oat flour for a lighter option)
1 egg
½ teaspoon cinnamon (optional, dog-safe)
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a bowl, mix pumpkin purée, melted coconut oil, and egg until smooth.
Gradually stir in flour (and cinnamon if using) to form a soft dough.
Roll dough to about ¼-inch thickness and cut into bone shapes.
Place treats on the baking sheet and bake for 25 minutes, until firm.
Let cool completely before serving (very important for eager pups).
Store the treats in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 7 days. For longer storage, freeze them for up to 3 months and thaw as needed.
Small dogs: 1 treat per day
Medium dogs: 1–2 treats per day
Large dogs: up to 3 treats per day
Always adjust based on your dog’s size, activity level, and overall diet.
The first time I made these treats, my dog sat in front of the oven like it was a movie theater. The moment the timer beeped, his tail started wagging so hard his whole body joined in. Once they cooled, I gave him one—and he gently took it, trotted to his bed, and ate it like it was the most important snack of his life. Now every time I grab the coconut oil jar, he appears instantly, hopeful eyes locked on me. These treats have officially become our thing, and honestly, seeing that kind of joy from something homemade never gets old.
