1 cup whole wheat flour (or oat flour for sensitive dogs)
½ cup rolled oats
1 egg
¼ cup unsweetened applesauce
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar (with the “mother”)
2–4 tablespoons water (as needed for dough consistency)
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a mixing bowl, combine the flour and rolled oats.
Add the egg, applesauce, and apple cider vinegar, mixing until combined.
Slowly add water, one tablespoon at a time, until a firm but rollable dough forms.
Roll the dough out on a lightly floured surface to about ¼-inch thickness.
Cut into bone shapes or small squares using a cookie cutter or knife.
Place treats on the prepared baking sheet.
Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until golden and firm.
Allow treats to cool completely before serving to your dog.
Store cooled treats in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
For longer storage, keep them in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks, or freeze for up to 3 months. Always thaw frozen treats before serving.
