1 cup cooked and mashed acorn squash
1½ cups whole wheat flour (or oat flour)
1 large egg
2 tablespoons unsweetened applesauce
1 tablespoon coconut oil, melted
½ teaspoon cinnamon
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, mix mashed acorn squash, egg, applesauce, and coconut oil.
Stir in cinnamon, then gradually add flour until a soft dough forms.
Roll dough to about ¼-inch thickness on a floured surface.
Cut into bone shapes or desired forms.
Place on baking sheet and bake for 28–30 minutes until firm.
Let cool completely before serving.
Store treats in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days, in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks, or freeze for up to 3 months.
