A wholesome, no-bake recipe your pup will drool over—perfect for hot days or anytime you want to spoil your fur baby with something homemade!
Last fall, my golden retriever Alfie was struggling with itchy skin and a sensitive tummy. The vet recommended cutting back on store-bought treats and experimenting with natural, homemade options. I had already tried these Soft Dog Treats With Banana and loved the results—but I wanted something a little more cooling and soothing, especially for Alfie’s belly.
That’s when this little treat was born: a blend of pumpkin puree, Greek yogurt, and banana. It’s creamy, easy to digest, and so satisfying to watch Alfie lick the spoon with joy.
1 ripe banana (mashed)
1/2 cup pumpkin puree (unsweetened, plain)
1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt (xylitol-free & probiotic-rich)
Optional: 1 tsp peanut butter (natural & xylitol-free)
Mash the banana in a bowl until smooth.
Add pumpkin puree and yogurt. Mix until fully combined.
Optional: Stir in the peanut butter for extra flavor.
Spoon the mixture into silicone molds or an ice cube tray.
Freeze for 3–4 hours or until firm.
Pop out and serve one at a time. Watch the tail wags!

Pumpkin : Great for digestion, rich in fiber and beta-carotene.
Banana : Loaded with potassium, supports muscle health.
Greek Yogurt : Provides probiotics for gut health and calcium for strong bones.
Want to mix it up?
Add a spoonful of applesauce for a sweeter flavor.
Use almond flour to turn them into baked bites.
Skip the peanut butter for dogs with allergies.
There’s something special about making treats together. Alfie watches every move I make in the kitchen. He knows when the banana gets peeled, something good is about to happen. It’s become our little ritual: him supervising, me blending, and both of us enjoying the first frozen bite together.
Store in an airtight container in the freezer.
Serve one treat at a time.
Keep frozen for up to 2 months (if they last that long!).
Too soft? Freeze longer or add a bit more yogurt.
Too hard for your pup? Let thaw for 1–2 minutes before serving.
Texture not right? Try blending the mixture instead of hand-mixing.
These Pumpkin Yogurt Banana Dog Treats aren’t just about keeping Alfie cool or healthy—they’re about love. About taking a few minutes to create something just for him. Every tail wag, every happy lick, every content sigh afterward reminds me why I started this in the first place. Homemade just feels right.
