Easy
18 Dog Treats
1 cup natural peanut butter (unsweetened, xylitol-free)
1 large egg
¾ cup coconut flour
¼ cup unsweetened applesauce
2–4 tablespoons water (as needed for dough consistency)
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Mix the wet ingredients. In a mixing bowl, combine the peanut butter, egg, and applesauce. Stir until smooth and creamy.
Add the coconut flour. Mix the flour into the wet ingredients until a thick dough forms.
Adjust the dough. Add water one tablespoon at a time if the dough feels too dry. Coconut flour absorbs moisture quickly, so add just enough to make the dough workable.
Roll and cut. Roll the dough between parchment sheets to about ¼ inch thick. Use a bone-shaped cookie cutter to cut the treats.
Bake. Place the treats on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 18–20 minutes until firm and lightly golden.
Cool completely. Let the treats cool fully before serving them to your dog.
Room Temperature: Store treats in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
Refrigerator: Keep refrigerated for up to 2 weeks for longer freshness.
Freezer: Freeze treats in a sealed container or bag for up to 3 months. Thaw before serving.
Small dogs (under 20 lbs): ½–1 treat per day
Medium dogs (20–50 lbs): 1–2 treats per day
Large dogs (50+ lbs): 2–3 treats per day
Treats should complement your dog’s balanced diet and be given in moderation.
