A soft, nourishing, 3-ingredient favorite that became our daily ritual.
t was the end of a long week, and my dog Willow had been by my side through every bit of it—early mornings, late nights, and everything in between. I had a half-used can of pumpkin puree in the fridge and a nearly empty jar of peanut butter I didn’t want to waste. I mixed them together, added oats, and rolled them into soft little bites.
She sniffed the bowl, tail wagging, and gently took the first one from my hand. And just like that, it became our thing. Every afternoon, one treat. One soft, warm, dog treat with pumpkin puree and peanut butter —a little ritual just for her.
These treats are quick, simple, and made with clean, dog-safe ingredients:
½ cup pumpkin puree (plain, unsweetened – not pie filling!)
¼ cup natural peanut butter (unsweetened, xylitol-free)
1½ cups rolled oats (blended into oat flour or used whole)
1 egg (optional, for binding if baking)
Dash of cinnamon (optional – for cozy aroma)
✅ Reminder: Always check that your peanut butter does not contain xylitol, which is toxic to dogs.
You can make these as no-bake chilled bites or bake them for a firmer texture.
In a bowl, combine pumpkin puree and peanut butter .
Stir in oats and mix until combined.
Scoop and roll into small balls.
Chill in fridge for 1–2 hours until firm.
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Mix pumpkin, peanut butter, oats, and egg in a large bowl.
Roll into balls or press into silicone molds.
Bake for 15–20 minutes until lightly golden.
Cool completely before serving.
