18 Dog Treats
2 ripe bananas, mashed
1/3 cup coconut oil, melted
1 1/2 cups oat flour (or finely blended rolled oats)
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a bowl, mash the bananas until smooth.
Stir in the melted coconut oil until fully combined.
Add the oat flour and mix until a soft, workable dough forms.
Roll out the dough to about 1/4-inch thickness and cut into bone shapes (or simple squares).
Place treats on the baking sheet and bake for 18–22 minutes, until lightly golden.
Let cool completely before serving.
Once cooled, store treats in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days. For longer freshness, refrigerate for up to 2 weeks or freeze for up to 3 months.
Small dogs: 1 small treat per day
Medium dogs: 1–2 treats per day
Large dogs: 2–3 treats per day
Always adjust based on your dog’s size, diet, and activity level.
The first time I baked these, my dog sat in front of the oven like it was a movie premiere. The smell of banana filled the kitchen, and with every timer beep, his tail thumped harder against the cabinets. When they finally cooled, I handed him one—he sniffed, tilted his head, and then crunched down with total commitment. Now, every time I grab a banana, he magically appears at my side, hopeful eyes locked on me. These treats have become our little ritual: simple ingredients, a wagging tail, and that quiet moment where you know you’re doing something small but really good for your best friend.
