18 Dog Treats
1 cup unsweetened applesauce (no added sugar or xylitol)
2 cups whole wheat flour (or oat flour for sensitive stomachs)
1 large egg
1 tablespoon coconut oil (melted)
½ teaspoon cinnamon (optional, dog-safe in small amounts)
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, mix the applesauce, egg, and melted coconut oil until well combined.
Gradually add the flour and cinnamon, stirring until a soft dough forms.
Lightly flour a surface and roll the dough to about ¼-inch thickness.
Cut into bone shapes or small squares using a cookie cutter or knife.
Place treats on the prepared baking sheet, leaving a little space between each.
Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until firm and lightly golden.
Let the treats cool completely before serving to your dog.
Store the cooled treats in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
For longer storage, refrigerate them for up to 2 weeks or freeze for up to 3 months. Always ensure treats are fully cooled before storing to prevent moisture buildup.
Small dogs: 1 treat per day
Medium dogs: 1–2 treats per day
Large dogs: 2–3 treats per day
Treats should complement your dog’s regular diet and be given in moderation.
