18 Dog Treats
1 cup pumpkin puree (unsweetened)
1/2 cup natural peanut butter (xylitol-free)
1 cup grated carrot
2 cups whole wheat flour (or oat flour)
1 egg
2–4 tablespoons water (as needed for dough)
Preheat the oven to 180°C / 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Mix wet ingredients. In a large bowl combine pumpkin puree, peanut butter, and egg until smooth.
Add carrots. Stir in the grated carrot so it spreads evenly through the mixture.
Form the dough. Gradually mix in the flour until a soft dough forms. Add a little water if the dough feels too dry.
Roll the dough. Roll it out on a lightly floured surface to about 1/4 inch thickness.
Cut the treats. Use bone-shaped cookie cutters to create fun dog biscuits.
Bake. Place treats on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 20–25 minutes until firm and lightly golden.
Cool completely before giving them to your dog.
Store treats in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
For longer storage, keep them in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
You can also freeze the treats for up to 3 months. Just thaw before serving.
Small dogs: 1 small treat per day
Medium dogs: 1–2 treats per day
