Ingredients

  • 1 cup pumpkin purée (plain, unsweetened — not pumpkin pie filling)

  • 2½ cups whole wheat flour (or oat flour for sensitive tummies)

  • 1 large egg

  • ¼ cup natural peanut butter (xylitol-free)

  • ¼ teaspoon cinnamon (optional, dog-safe in small amounts)

How To Make

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. In a large bowl, mix the pumpkin purée, egg, and peanut butter until smooth.

  3. Gradually add the flour (and cinnamon if using), stirring until a firm dough forms.

  4. Roll the dough out on a lightly floured surface to about ¼-inch thickness.

  5. Cut into bone shapes (or any fun shape you like) using a cookie cutter.

  6. Place treats on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 25 minutes, or until firm.

  7. Let the treats cool completely before serving to your dog.

How To Store

Once fully cooled, store the treats in an airtight container.

  • Room temperature: up to 5 days

  • Refrigerator: up to 2 weeks

  • Freezer: up to 3 months

Freezing is ideal if you make a large batch and want to keep them fresh longer.

Serving Sizes

These treats are meant as rewards, not meal replacements.

  • Small dogs: 1 small treat per day

  • Medium dogs: 1–2 treats per day

  • Large dogs: up to 3 treats per day

Always adjust based on your dog’s size, activity level, and dietary needs.
