18 Dog Treats
1 cup natural peanut butter (xylitol-free)
2 cups whole wheat flour
1 large egg
½ cup water (plus more if needed)
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Mix ingredients. In a medium bowl, combine the peanut butter, egg, and water. Stir until smooth.
Add flour. Gradually mix in the whole wheat flour until a dough forms. If the dough feels too dry, add a tablespoon of water at a time.
Roll the dough. Lightly flour a surface and roll the dough to about ¼-inch thickness.
Cut shapes. Use a bone-shaped cookie cutter (or any shape you like).
Bake. Place cookies on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 15–18 minutes until golden and firm.
Cool completely before serving so the cookies become nice and crunchy.
Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
For longer storage, keep them refrigerated for up to 2 weeks.
You can also freeze the treats for up to 3 months. Just thaw a few at a time before serving.
Small dogs: ½–1 cookie
Medium dogs: 1–2 cookies
Large dogs: 2–3 cookies
