If you’ve ever looked at the back of a store-bought dog treat bag and thought,
"Wait… what even is that ingredient?" — you’re not alone.

When I started making treats for my dog Milo , I wanted something healthy, simple, and quick — without the hidden fillers and preservatives. The best part? Homemade treats aren’t just a snack. They’re a little love letter from you to your pup.

So, let’s make two wholesome recipes your dog will drool over — and you’ll feel great giving.

Recipe 1 – Chewy Apple Oat Bites

Perfect for: Gentle chewers, training rewards, or an afternoon snack.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup rolled oats (blended into oat flour)

  • 1 medium apple, peeled and finely grated

  • 1 egg

  • 1 tbsp coconut oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F).

  2. Mix grated apple with egg and coconut oil.

  3. Add oat flour until dough is slightly sticky but holds together.

  4. Roll into small bite-sized balls and flatten slightly.

  5. Bake for 12–14 minutes until just set (don’t overbake for softness).

Recipe 2 – Frozen Banana & Yogurt Pupsicles

Perfect for: Hot days, teething puppies, or after a walk.

Ingredients

  • 1 ripe banana

  • ½ cup plain Greek yogurt (unsweetened)

  • 2 tbsp water

Instructions

  1. Blend all ingredients until smooth.

  2. Pour into silicone molds or ice cube trays.

  3. Freeze for 3–4 hours until solid.
