I didn’t realize until Luna’s first birthday that eggs were the sneaky culprit behind her itchy skin.
Every time I’d bake her a “special” treat, she’d start scratching like crazy later that night.
That’s when I started digging into egg-free dog baking — and it turns out, not only do these recipes help sensitive pups, they’re also delicious, healthy, and ridiculously easy to make.
If your dog has an egg allergy or you just ran out of eggs, these two simple recipes will save treat day.
Perfect for: Dogs who love a soft, savory snack.
Ingredients:
1 cup mashed cooked sweet potato (no skin)
½ cup oat flour (or blend rolled oats)
2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
2–3 tbsp water (if needed)
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 160°C (325°F) and line a tray.
In a bowl, mix sweet potato, oat flour, and parsley.
Add water only if dough feels too dry.
Roll into small balls or press into silicone molds.
Bake for 15–18 minutes for a chewy texture.
Cool completely before serving to Luna.
Perfect for: A quick treat on a hot day.
Ingredients:
1 medium ripe banana, mashed
½ cup shredded unsweetened coconut
¼ cup oat flour
Instructions:
Mash banana until smooth in a mixing bowl.
Stir in shredded coconut and oat flour until mixture holds together.
Roll into bite-sized balls.
Chill in the fridge for 1–2 hours before serving.
