Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh blueberries (washed)

  • 1 cup oat flour (or finely ground rolled oats)

  • 1 large egg

  • 1–2 tablespoons water (only if needed for dough consistency)

How To Make

  1. Prepare the blueberries: Lightly mash the blueberries with a fork until juicy but still textured.

  2. Mix the dough: In a bowl, combine mashed blueberries, oat flour, and egg. Mix until a soft dough forms. Add water a little at a time if the dough feels dry.

  3. Roll and cut: Roll the dough to about ¼-inch thickness on a lightly floured surface. Cut into bone-shaped treats using a cookie cutter.

  4. Dehydrate: Place treats on dehydrator trays, leaving space between each. Dehydrate at 135°F (57°C) for 6–8 hours, flipping halfway, until fully dry and crisp.

    • Oven option: Bake at the lowest setting (around 170°F / 75°C) with the door slightly open for airflow, checking frequently.

  5. Cool completely: Let treats cool before serving or storing—they’ll firm up even more as they cool.

How To Store

Store fully cooled treats in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week. For longer storage, refrigerate for up to 3 weeks or freeze for up to 3 months.

Serving Sizes

  • Small dogs: 1 small treat per day

  • Medium dogs: 1–2 treats per day

  • Large dogs: Up to 3 treats per day

Always introduce new treats slowly and adjust based on your dog’s size and diet.
