18 Dog Treats
1 cup whole wheat flour (or oat flour for a gentler option)
½ cup rolled oats
½ cup fresh or frozen blueberries
¼ cup unsweetened applesauce
1 egg
¼ cup plain unsweetened yogurt
2 tablespoons coconut oil, melted
½ teaspoon baking powder
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, mix the flour, oats, and baking powder until well combined.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg, applesauce, yogurt, and melted coconut oil.
Gently fold the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until a thick dough forms.
Carefully fold in the blueberries, trying not to crush them too much.
Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to about ½-inch thickness.
Use a bone-shaped cookie cutter to cut out treats and place them on the baking sheet.
Bake for 18–22 minutes, or until the treats are lightly golden and firm to the touch.
Let cool completely before serving to your dog.
Store the cooled treats in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
For longer storage, keep them in the refrigerator for up to 7 days, or freeze for up to 3 months. Thaw before serving.
Small dogs: 1 small treat per day
Medium dogs: 1–2 treats per day
Large dogs: 2–3 treats per day
Always introduce new treats slowly and adjust portions based on your dog’s size and activity level.
