Easy
18 Dog Treats
1 ripe banana, mashed
½ cup pure pumpkin puree (unsweetened)
½ cup natural peanut butter (xylitol-free)
1 ½ cups whole wheat flour (or oat flour for a gentler option)
1 egg
1–2 tablespoons water (if needed for dough consistency)
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Mash the banana in a medium mixing bowl until smooth.
Add pumpkin puree, peanut butter, and egg, mixing until well combined.
Stir in the flour gradually until a dough forms. If the dough is too thick, add a little water.
Roll the dough on a lightly floured surface to about ¼ inch thickness.
Cut into bone shapes using a cookie cutter.
Place treats on the baking sheet and bake for 18–22 minutes until firm and lightly golden.
Cool completely before giving them to your dog.
Store treats in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
For longer storage, keep them in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
You can also freeze the treats for up to 3 months and thaw a few at a time.
Small dogs (under 20 lbs): ½–1 treat per day
Medium dogs (20–50 lbs): 1–2 treats per day
Large dogs (50+ lbs): 2–3 treats per day
Always introduce new treats gradually and ensure they fit within your dog’s daily diet.
