There’s something deeply comforting about cooking for your dog.
Not because it’s trendy — but because you know exactly what’s going into their bowl.
This Homemade Dog Meals is inspired by simple, everyday ingredients you probably already have in your kitchen. No fillers. No mystery powders. Just warm, nourishing food that smells good enough to make tails wag before it even cools.
400 g ground turkey or lean minced beef
1 cup carrots, chopped or sliced
1 cup peas (fresh or frozen)
1 cup sweet potato, peeled & diced
½ cup white rice or brown rice, cooked
1 tbsp olive oil or salmon oil
Water (as needed)
💡 Optional add-ins:
Zucchini
Green beans
Pumpkin purée (plain, unsweetened)
In a large pot, add a splash of water and cook the ground meat until fully done.
Add carrots, peas, and sweet potato. Pour in enough water to lightly cover.
Simmer on low heat for 15–20 minutes, until veggies are soft.
Stir in the cooked rice and oil.
Let cool completely before serving.
As a general guide:
Small dogs: ½–1 cup per day
