Last fall, I made these layered treats for our neighborhood dog costume parade. Each little frozen candy corn got as many smiles from the humans as tail wags from the pups. They looked like candy, but they were pure wholesome goodness.

Why I Started Making Halloween Dog Treats Ideas

When it comes to Halloween snacks, presentation is everything. I wanted Halloween dog treats ideas that were not only safe and healthy but looked amazing on a party table. That’s how I came up with these candy corn–inspired frozen yogurt bites.

Recipe: Candy Corn Frozen Yogurt Bites

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup plain Greek yogurt (unsweetened)

  • ½ cup pumpkin puree

  • ½ cup banana puree

  1. Spoon yogurt into the bottom third of silicone molds, freeze 20 minutes.

  2. Add pumpkin puree as the middle layer, freeze again.

  3. Top with banana puree for the final layer, freeze until solid (about 2–3 hours).

Common Issues & Fixes

  • Layers mixing? Freeze each one fully before adding the next.

  • Too hard? Let sit at room temp for 3–5 minutes before serving.

Bonding with My Dog During Prep

Layering these takes patience — it’s not just a quick scoop-and-go job. Each layer needs its moment to set perfectly before the next one is added, and that means a lot of opening and closing the freezer door. Evelyn doesn’t seem to mind one bit. In fact, she plants herself right beside the freezer, head tilted and eyes fixed on me like she’s on official duty, guarding her future treats from any potential “snack thieves.” Every time I pass by, her tail gives a hopeful wag, as if to remind me that all this effort is for her — and she’s ready the very second they’re done.

Customizing the Recipe

  • Use mashed sweet potato instead of pumpkin.

  • Add a pinch of cinnamon for extra aroma.

  • Make larger cubes for a slower treat.

Storage Tips

  • Freezer: Up to 2 months.

Final Thoughts:

If you’re looking for Halloween dog treats ideas that are Instagram-worthy and dog-approved, these candy corn frozen yogurt bites are a perfect choice.
