These Green Apple Dog Treats are incredibly easy and simple to make with just a handful of wholesome ingredients. They’re a fresh, naturally sweet snack your dog will love—and you’ll love how quickly they come together with no fancy tools required.
10 minutes
20–25 minutes
1 cup whole wheat flour (or oat flour for a gentler option)
½ cup unsweetened applesauce (green apple preferred)
½ cup finely grated fresh green apple (peeled, seeds removed)
1 large egg
1 tablespoon coconut oil, melted
1–2 tablespoons water (as needed for dough consistency)
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a mixing bowl, combine the flour and grated green apple.
Add the applesauce, egg, and melted coconut oil. Mix until a soft dough forms.
If the dough feels dry, add water one tablespoon at a time until workable.
Roll the dough out on a lightly floured surface to about ¼-inch thickness.
Cut into bone shapes or small squares using a cookie cutter or knife.
Place treats on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 20–25 minutes, until lightly golden and firm.
Let treats cool completely before serving to your dog.
Store cooled treats in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
For longer freshness, refrigerate for up to 2 weeks, or freeze for up to 3 months. Always thaw fully before serving.
Small dogs: 1 treat per day
Medium dogs: 1–2 treats per day
Large dogs: 2–3 treats per day
Treats should complement your dog’s regular diet and be given in moderation.
