1 cup pumpkin purée (plain, unsweetened)
½ cup unsweetened applesauce
2½ cups whole wheat flour (or oat flour for sensitive stomachs)
1 egg
½ teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, mix pumpkin purée, applesauce, and egg until smooth.
Gradually add the flour and cinnamon, stirring until a firm dough forms.
Roll the dough out on a lightly floured surface to about ¼-inch thickness.
Cut into bone shapes or desired treat shapes.
Place treats on the baking sheet and bake for 25 minutes, or until firm and lightly golden.
Let cool completely before serving to your dog.
Store the treats in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days. For longer storage, keep them in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks, or freeze for up to 3 months.
