Ingredients

  • 1 cup pure pumpkin purée (unsweetened, no additives)

  • ½ cup finely grated apple (peeled, seeds removed)

  • 1 large egg

  • 2½ cups whole wheat flour (or oat flour for sensitive stomachs)

  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon (optional, dog-safe amount)

  • 2–4 tablespoons water (as needed for dough consistency)

How to make

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  • Gradually add flour (and cinnamon if using), mixing until a firm dough forms. Add water slowly if needed.

  • Roll the dough out on a lightly floured surface to about ¼-inch thickness.

  • Cut into desired shapes (bones, squares, or circles work well).

  • Place treats on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 25 minutes, until firm and lightly golden.

  • Let treats cool completely before serving.

How to store

Store cooled treats in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
For longer storage, keep them in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks or freeze for up to 3 months. Always thaw frozen treats fully before serving.

Serving sizes

  • Small dogs: 1 treat per day

  • Medium dogs: 1–2 treats per day
