25 minutes
1 cup whole wheat flour
½ cup shredded cheddar cheese (sharp works best)
½ cup unsweetened applesauce
1 small apple, finely grated (peeled and cored)
1 egg
2 tablespoons water (as needed for dough consistency)
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, combine the flour and shredded cheddar cheese.
Add the applesauce, grated apple, and egg. Mix until a dough forms.
If the dough feels dry, add water one tablespoon at a time until it’s pliable.

Cut into shapes using cookie cutters or slice into small squares.
Place treats on the prepared baking sheet, spacing slightly apart.
Bake for 22–25 minutes, or until firm and lightly golden.
Allow treats to cool completely before serving.
